Diamond Fund Exhibition (Almazny Fond.) - this amazing collection of diamonds, jewelry, precious minerals and stones garnered by tsar and empresses. The items on display within the Armory Palace date from the 18th century to the present, and it is the reachest Russian Museum, founded by Peter the Great. Museum holds Ekatherina II crown, with 5000 diamonds - the most expensive crown in the world. Highlights of the collection are the Orlov Diamond, a present from Count Orlov to his mistress, Catherine the Great (1729-96)

Diamond, which was given to Tsar Nicholas I (1796-1855) by the Shah of Persia as a gesture of condolence after the assassination in 1829 of Alexander Griboyedov, the Russian ambassador to Persia and a well-known poet.
The State Tretiakov Gallery is the national treasury of Russian fine art X-XX centuries and one of the greatest museums in the world. It was formed in 1856 and named after its founder, Pavel Tretiakov, who donated his private collection to the City of Moscow . The museum represents the whole history of Russian art from the ancient period until now. The collection consists of about 125,000 works of art. Among the items are the unique examples of ancient Russian icons, including the outstanding icons painted by Andrei Rublev, Dionissus and Simon Ushakov. The Tretiakov Gallery, founded in 1856 as a private collection, will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2006.
The Bolshoi Theatre is a grand neo-classical building that was constructed in 1824 and is renowned for its size (it is the second largest theater in the world after LaScala in Milan) and the quality of the acoustics. The Bolshoi has hosted some of Russia's most famed performers and celebrated premieres by some of the world's best-loved composers, like in 1842, when Glinka's opera ‘A Life for the Tsar’ was premiered. The creative activity of such composers and directors as Alexis Verstovsky, Alexander Varlamov, Anton Rubenstine, Petr Chaikovsky, Sergey Rachmaninov, Fedor Shalyapin and Maya Plissetskya, contributed massively to the Bolshoi’s international status. The theatre's ballet performances are some of the best in the world and the company's corps de ballet is one of the most acclaimed in Europe. A trip to see one of the Bolshoi Theatre's world-class opera or ballet performances is an absolute must on your next visit to Moscow.
The Kremlin is the spiritual heart of the Russian polity, the small city in the center of Moscow, once the residence of Czars and Patriarchs. Russian rulers have sat here from medieval times, excluding the temporary interruption when St Petersburg was made capital. Today, the Kremlin is one of the largest museums in the world. The Armory Collection of gold, silver and jewelry, Faberge eggs, carriages and Czarist thrones is a perfect excuse to visit Moscow. Late in the evening the brightly illuminated Kremlin ensemble presents a fantastic, majestic and sophisticated harmony Kremlin is the center of the city's layout. Its red brick walls and 20 towers were built at the end of the 15th century. On the Kremlin grounds you can see the Tsar Bell and the Tsar Cannon and visit Annunciation (Blagoveschensky), Arkhangel (Arkhangelsky) and Assumption (Voznesensky) Cathedrals, the Bell -Tower of Ivan the Great and the Church of the Twelve Apostles – the wonderful monuments of Russian church architecture with unique richly decorated interiors.
The world-famous Armoury is one of the oldest museums of Russia, a virtual treasure house. It was build in 1844-1851, by Konstantin Ton. It is the collection of Russian, Eastern, Western art works of the V-XX centuries, the tsar’s thrones, garb and armor, the unique silver and golden dishes. The tsars and grand prince’s regalia, the coaches of different centuries, the collection of arms, learn a lot of remarkable stories about the life of their owners. The Armoury as a depository of tsar’s treasures was first mentioned in chronicles at the beginning of the 16th century. That was the prototype of the future museum. Nowadays the collection of the museum numbers over four thousand items.
