Chivyrkuisky Bay is a special place on the lake famous for the unforgettable fishing experiences with great pike and perch trophies.
Fishing area description
The Chivyrkuisky Bay is located North-West of the Baikal Lake on the territory of The Baikal National Park, far away from large cities and towns and not exhausted by industrial fishing. The nearest large populated area, Ust'-Burguzine Village, is 60 km away. At the beginning of the 20th century this place was one of the most famous among fishermen, but in the late 70th the situation changed. In 1987 The Chivyrkuisky Bay became a part of The Baikal National Park and fishing was restricted, and resumed only recently. The Chivyrkuisky Bay is not very deep (the average depth is 6-8 meters), and you won't find a better place for fishing.
Fishing season is open from the 10th of July till the 1st of September.
The most recommended time for planning your fishing tour at The Chivyrkuisky Bay is from June till mid -July and from late August till the end of September. During the season there is a chance to catch a great number of pike and perch trophies; umber and salmon are also very active at this time. During the season the average weight of a pike trophy is 4 to 8 kg (8 -16 lbs) and perch up to 1 kg (2 lbs).
Every year more than 50 pike trophies with an average weight 13-16 kg (26-32 lbs) are caught, and the record weight of perch trophies is up to 3 kg (6 lbs) and more.
You could hardly think of ide as a trophy fish, but sometime its weight goes up to 3,5 kg (7 lbs). And the best place for umber and salmon are the numerous rivers that flow into the bay.
The Bolshoi Chivyrkui is one of the most fish-rich river known all over for its rich trophies. A great number of umber and salmon are at the Bolshoi Chivyrkui's creek.
The experienced fisher for in one day may catch up to 50-60 umber tails up to 700- 1100 grams (1-3 lbs). The biggest under for the history of The Bolshoi Chivyrkui weighted 2,5 kg (5lbs). The salmon in this river is up to 3-5 kg (6-10 lbs). You can also take a chance and go for a see fishing on see umber. The see umber is famous for its greater sizes and more pale meat.
Fishing tour organization and description.
During the summer season there are 4-5 hours of wishing in the morning hours and 4-5 hours at early night. For every two fishers there is one motorboat and a personal guide. The professional guide will escort fishers to the place where great trophies are very likely to be caught or upon the clients' requirements to the places, which have been discussed previously. For the salmon fishing the two days gateways with sleeping outside under tent will be organized. We will provide you with a license for all kind of fishing except to the fishing on restricted species.
Lodging and meals.
There two small houses for two persons on the territory of the base camp. Each house is accommodated with bio toilet, shower, sink and heater.
Three times a day home made food will be prepared by a professional cook. Breakfast, lunch and supper will be served at the most convenient time for the fishers. Every day menu usually includes meat and fish dishes, fresh vegetables salads, fruits, non alcohol beverages, cheese, sausages, sauces, spices, fresh bakery. The special Baikal triple fish soup, the fish baked in a foil, cold and hot smoked fish will be prepared upon your request. The alcohol beverages are not included!!!
