Fishing in Astrakhan. The Volga River.
At the first look at the map of Russian Federation you will easily see that the territory of the Astrakhan region is promises exciting fishing getaways on the banks of the greatest Russian river - Volga. The Volga river with its numerous canals, wide lakes and the sister river Akhtuba form a real water jungle - a great water expanse for the every type of fishing.
In the fishing world the Astrakhan region is famous among thousands of fishermen for its enormous catfish trophies, bronze sazans and countless perch schools, which make water look boiling. In the delta of the Volga River lots of record specimens of that whiskered master of the depth - catfish - were caught. You can hardly surprise anyone there with a 50 kg (100 lbs) trophy, and 100 kg (200 lb) specimens are not unknown of.
If you are interested in predator specimens, you will have a chance to catch a jumbo size trophies of zander, rarapfen (zalat), pike and perch. Speaking of fishing for predators, the best seasons are spring and fall, but for the sazan the best time is sizzling hot summer. Sazan might truly be called the strongest fish in the lower Volga, and every trophy weighing 8 - 12 kg (16 - 24 lbs) will command respect for the fisherman. It's not uncommon here to catch a large-size specimen, but even professional anglers struggle hard to pull out a 20 kg (40 lbs) fish out of the water. Once you have been to Astrakhan, you will never forget that real fishing experience, or fish soup from a freshly caught fish by a cozy campfire, and beautiful nature .
At the lower Volga the summer season begins in April and lasts trough November. For a large trophy catch it is best to go in September - November. In the winter we offer incredible net fishing under ice. Unforgettable experience guaranteed, but be prepared for some frost, lots of snow, and hard work on a frozen lake.
Lodging.
Well-equipped regular and mobile lodges are ready to welcome you. The fishing place will be chosen based upon you specific requirement and interests. The vast territory on both sides of Volga provides an extensive list of places to choose from.
All lodges have a number of convenient rooms for two persons, a living room for leisure time, restrooms, showers, motorboats, smoking sheds and braziers. Everything is designed here to make the fishing trip more comfortable for demanding tourists. For groups of 4 to 8 people we may book a private lodge or a small hotel in order to make you stay more comfortable.
Fishing/ Hunting base camp "North Kaspii"
The base camp is located on the island with a total area of 1 ha (2.471 acre), 130 km (80 miles) away from the city of Astrakhan.
This lodge was build on the island to allow you to spent you time close to nature. The base camp may accommodate up to 16 people. Every room includes a TV, air conditioner and restroom. The hotel also offers a pool room, Russian sauna, restaurant, bar and satellite TV. VIP rooms and apartments are also available.
The tour package includes: transfer Astrakhan - base camp - Astrakhan, home-made food 3 times a day, Russian sauna, fishing guide services, plastic boat with a "Yamaha - 15" engine for every two anglers.

Cruise Itinerary: Astrakhan City - Main Bank - old Volga - Makarkin peninsula - Astrakhan City. Upon your request we may re-arrange itinerary based upon your specifications.
Fishing season: April 1 - November 20.
Motor yacht crew: 5 people.
Number of quests: up to 12 people.
Accommodation: 6 VIP cabins (4 with two twin size beds and 2 with queen size beds). Each furnished cabin is equipped with a restroom, shower, TV set with VCR and DVD player. There is a central air conditioning on the yacht.
The yacht also offers a restaurant, a bar (24/7), sunbathing on the upper deck, a speed boat, fishing gear (spinning rods, baits), brazier and 2 large refrigerators for your catch.
